Default Verizon Fios picture quality really better than Comcast Xfinity?

I've got a full LED backlit 240 HZ Vizio 55" TV and just switched to Verizon from Comcast. All reviews I've read say Fios TV is better, but I swear the pic was better (sharper with virtually no motion blur) with the Xfinity service. I notice this across all channels, the 1080 as well as 720. Especially the 720 networks seem better on Comcast.
How is this possible?? Anything to do with compression? I live in Harrisburg PA area. I'm seriously thinking about switching back to Comcast...
PS- Fios internet is also rated faster, but my wireless Fios connection (download) tests consistently slower than Xfinity- about 180MBPS vs 300MBPS for Xfinity. Fios upload is faster, but this is less important to me - just sayin' in case it's relevant...

1) check the video settings in your STB.
2) I'm pretty sure the internet speed(s) is dependent upon your subscription. Basic is 15Mbps I believe.

Is this cable or internet as to how are you getting the TV signal?

I saw fios once and it was amazing, but now I dont know if it is still and so on.

IF REMOTE IS SLOW On your remote, press and hold the "SELECT" and "MUTE" buttons. Wait for the Green lights at the top of your remote to blink twice. Then enter" 963" ,then press "CHANNEL DOWN" button. Wait for the Green light to blink 4 times. This procedure stops the IDing of the Remote to the Recv'r everytime you press a Remote button(I know it sounds weird but it seems to work for me!!)
Good Luck!

Verizon Fios takes the advantage in most areas (like speed and contract terms), but Comcast XFINITY has one of our favorite DVRs with the X1, plus it serves a larger part of the country and has more bundling options.

Thanks. I was interested only in quality of picture and if there was a difference.

In my area and my experience... FiOS has an edge on PQ, internet stability and much better customer service compared to Comcast.

Thanks...

I dont think Verizon FIOS is an option where I am moving but Uverse is, wonder if they are similar as in how the signal is provided.

I don't think they equate in provision technology.
U-Verse, FiOS, cable (insert vendor name here) provision a "service" but differ in delivery method(s).

FYI...
All internet providers utilize "fiber optic". Probably 99% of the internet is fiber. FiOS is typically fiber from the "head-end" to the subscriber's premises. Others are copper or broadcast.
