Default need advice

good morning all,I have a few questions on my home theater,I have a samsung 50"hdtv with a onkyo ht-s5100 htib,i always knew that i would eventually start to upgrade my components when i got some xtra cash.so here we go i just purchased infinity primus speakers 2 front 162 and one center 350 ,i wanted to move the old onkyo fronts and use them as my new rear surrounds, will this be ok being they dont match the new primus speakers?,is the old onkyo sub ok with the new fronts, and is the onkyo receiver(ht-r560) ok to keep for good? my room isnt that big 11x15 so do you think it would be that beneficial to add the rear center speaker to make it 6.1 surround.thanks so much in advance

in a home theater setup, where movie soundtracts are the major use of the system, surround speakers do not need to match the front three. The surrounds are for positional effects and ambient sounds on the DD5.1 recording.
Your next upgrade may be the subwoofer, but use the one you have for now. The Onkyo receiver will work fine until you "really need" full HD audio over the HDMI cable inputs. As a Dolby Digital 5.1 receiver it will work fine.

HDMI is not necessary. Your AVR has analog inputs. You can get a player that decodes all formats and has analog outputs. That will get you full HD audio without HDMI.

The Onkyo SR-TX607 is a nice upgrade receiver to the one you have.

just to clarify my "full HD audio" comment. I am refering to the new audio codecs like Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD available on blu-ray DVD's and passed to the receiver over HDMI cables (and yes, some blu-ray players can decode the HD audio codecs and send the output over individual pre-outs directly to some receivers separate channel analog audio inputs). Dolby Digital 5.1 surround audio is available over Toslink optical cable and digital audio coax cable to DD5.1 receivers that do not process audio over the HDMI input.
