Default Has anyone heard anything about Theater Research brand speakers?

Just wondering if anyone had heard anything about them, they have a lot on EBAY and they seem to have good wattage, but obviously I can't tell about its sound quality. If anyone knows anything thing about them that would be great. I'm looking for some speakers for a Harman Kardon AVR 235 receiver.

These speakers have the rep of being sold out of white vans. The kind that pull up to unsuspecting folks and offer them the deal of a lifetime.
They are built with very cheap labor, and come with an instant warranty. The instant warranty is one that instantly disappears as you hand over your cash.

Do yourself a favor, and buy name brand speakers. If you are not very particular about sound, you can buy Bose..which are not that bad but actually are not that inexpensive either. (my opinion).

IF you want a home theater system, buy a small system like those offered by Energy, JBL, Polk, and others.

Or take your time and learn what actually sounds good, train your ears, and read a lot of reviews, etc. and go from there.

Ebay is fine for bargain hunters looking for less important merchandise, or for those who are really looking for something specific they need. Don't fall for the hype on the ads. You can make anything sound like it works great by knowing how to write well

Why are the van's always white? I encountered the white van twice in Daytona Beach. A friend of mine actually bought a pair for $100....they worked allright for our backhouse/bar area during the college days. I'd never put them in my living room though. The best part was the spec sheet they had for the speakers claiming they were retailing for $599 a piece. Both times the van pulled up behind me was at a bank just after withdrawing from an ATM.

I think they are white because those are the kinds most available by leasing agencies. Besides, for those who want to buy their audio out of vans, they are easy to spot!
