Holy crap. I didn't think those Energys were that nice.

You guys pretty much stole those.

Woven fiber woofers are usually $$$$.

Nice setup... I am currently looking for a new receiver for my friend. He has the Pannasonic BD30K that only does lossless via bitstream , so I need to find him one thae has the decoders built in. His budget is only around $300.. The 606 at 4less would be his only option from what I told him, but the are always unavaliable/not in stock so I told him to wait or save and extra hundo or so. They have a couple 705's for $420. If that dam 30K only could do PCM, 1 of those Marantz receivers for around $250 would of been sweet..

Oh well.. Melink, nice setup for the money and kick back and enjoy.. I know I am lovin mine.. Man those speaker stands are brute force..

Yeah the Onkyo 606 was another close contender for me..... hope he get's it all figured out!!

One question... what were you referring to about the speaker stands being brute force? If you meant the ones in my pic, those actually came with the ancient speakers I bought before this new setup. (You can see them in this shot actually) They do the job for now so I'm satisfied.

Yeah, they look sweet.I had a chat with jr to see what I could get the 663 for(mentiond AVS,etc) and he told me he could only offer free ground shipping.Since there are some of you that got it for 359.00,I don't know whats going on.If that's the case I'm going with the Denon.

Yeah, I was looking at the 663 for my friend when the $359 gig was going around. Great price on that receiver. The only thing that turned us off was only 2 HDMI inputs. He needs at least 3 and 4 would be sweet... Tried to find the 606 at some local CC's during the Liquidation sale. By the time they went to around $350, they were all gone...

Just some monster speaker stands is all and they look well made. It appears a B17 can land on em.. Now that I see your old speakers, it makes sense now... Good stuff..

The deal for the 663 was nice, but if it's no longer available, then I'll get the denon 1909/789.
Kamspy did I read a post where you had this receiver(1909)?

Yeah, the Denon 1909 Refurb deal for $359 shipped was my 2nd choice to the Onkyo 606 for $319 shipped. But like the 606, the 1909 on E-cost is always "out of stock".... I haven't seen the 606 (refurb) in stock at 4less in many weeks..Trying to talk him into the the 705 for $419 but a bit over his "wife gonna kick me in the nuts" budget..

I tried it out and liked it. But I ultimately went with a Marantz 4002.

But the Denon was fine, it's just that I got the 4002 and for $250 and it served all the same purposes as the Denon.

But that's just for my needs. The 4002 can't decode any HD formats. But I don't need that since I use a PS3 and an HTPC.

Let me ask you this. Would that Marantz be able to handle My Dish HD-Dvr,Panasonic Bluray and my xbox 360?I got to listen to a marantz awhile back and liked it.I just thought that I would need an upper version to suit my need which = $$$$$$$

Yes it would....I almost bought that receiver for my freind until I found out his BD30K only did bitstream for lossless audio. Your 360 and HD-DVR are only DD 5/1/DTS, but you can connect your blu-ray player via PCM for Lossless Dolby True-HD and or DTS HD-Master. The 4002 has 3 HDMI inputs so you can hook all 3 devices up (if your 360 is HDMI)... Fucking BD30K.. Maybe I should just switch my BD35k with his 30K and get him the dam 4002.. I can't believe the 30K only does bitstream.. It is usually the other way around or both.. For $250, that is 1 kickass receiver deal.. What is the video proc chip in that thing Kamp??

For my money, the 4002 is the best receiver out there at a price/value ratio.

But all my BD gear already does the decoding.
