Default Flat Adhesive Backed Wire ?

Since I recently bought a 52" DLP .. I had to re-orient my family room. In the process .. I have to re-locate my Bose (lifestyle25) speakers to new locations.

Am considering this 'Flat Adhesive Backed Wire' to connect my Bose cube speakers. I plan to (stick and) run the wires along the corners of my wall .. and then repaint them. Anyone tried this before ? How visible (or not visible) will the wires be ?

I am considering the Part number #100-015 as shown on the parts-express website.

http://www.partsexpress.com/pdf/catalog05/079pec05.pdf

Also .. how would i connect one end of this flat wire to the acoustimass module ? would i need any special connectors ?

regards,
eb

Thumbs up

18 ga. is too small. Use at least 16 ga. I used doubled 14 ga. for the rear channel.

18 ga is about what the Bose came with. On my acoustimass module it uses RCA phono connectors. It would be best to solder new ones on the wires. Alternately you could splice them to pigtails made from your old wires.

I bought some flat wire from these folks:

I am running it under carpet and carpet pad. It comes with end terminals to adapt to 'round wire' connectors. It is supposed to be paintable. Have not had a chance to test it yet. Carpet arrives Friday! The install of my 'clean sheet of paper' HT system is drawing near.... drool........
