Was it Upscale Audio or Saturday Audio that you purchased from? I know of those is in Cali, the other's in Chicago and I get them mixed up.
I got them from Yawaonline.com, I never heard of them before but I noticed they were selling the T45s for just under 600 a pair and decided to give them a call and ask about the T55s and T65s. Well I guess they were once an authorized PSB dealer and are now not. So instead of shipping all the speakers back to PSB, they allowed Yawa to sell the brand new in box sets for wholesale prices. I talked them down to 700 shipped on the T65s which is almost half of what the retail is. I could not pass that up, and I am tired of looking as its been since october that I have been looking for fronts.

I know Yawa still has the T45s in stock and are willing to negotiate price as that is what I did. Unfortuneately I took the last pair of T65s in black. I looked at Saturday audio and they had the maple T55s for a good price but another option is buying used or demos. Audiogon.com has some really amazing hi fi classifieds and that is where I found Saturday audio and DMC electronics and a few other authorized dealers of both A and B stock.

As soon as the T65s come in I will be doing some critical reviewing and let you know how they sound in a normal enviroment and not some acoustically sound room like you will find while demoing.

I'd go with the T65 only. I love my mid and mid bass.

So my T65s arrived yesterday and holy cow are they huge... they are 20 inches DEEP!!!

I swear this is the worst time to come down with a cold cause my ears are all plugged and sensitive so to me they sound good but not great.. Nothing sounds great right now for that matter, but that did not stop me from watching a couple movies yesterday.

The bass these bad boys produce is unreal, I was doing some 2 channel audio and my friend was like turn your sub off I wanna hear what they can do.. I said my sub is off im running just the towers, he went over put his hand to the sub port and ear up to the sub and was astonished all that bass was coming from them.. It was not boomy at all either it was crisp, fast and clean just the way I like it..

I will however hold my final judgement till I am 100% better and can actually hear anything other than bass, as of right now high frequencies are just not registering right..

I like my towers to do bass, so post here again in a few days after you get better. I'm just getting over one hell of a cold now. Fluids! Lots of them!

You can find used ones online. Paradigm deals with only authorized dealers and none of them are allowed to sell online. You need to find a local dealer.

So Codes have you made any headway on which speakers you intend to go with..

I know I have not given my review on the T65s but honestly I sometimes wish I would have stayed with just decent buy at any big box store speakers.. The better the speaker the more revealing they can be.. I find all the MP3s and everything that sounded good with my Polks sound like crap even when decoded to lossless WMA files.

Some are better than others granted but unless its CD quality and than even some CDs are mixed bad and it just sounds plain bad. Lets just say I am spending much more money on SACDs and CDs than I ever intended to.. But unless you buy/DL music that is a quality recording (which sound amazing btw) anything less than that sounds bad, and I have not been the only one to notice.. Even my friends who dont know anything about audio notice this, than when I play the same material through my Klipsch Quintet II and they are like man those little speakers sound better than your uber expensive towers..

I am happy with them but it really is a hassle and now I see why audiophiles spend ridiculous ammounts of money on this hobby..

No headway yet. I may have to put off my speaker purchase to pay for a summer class (biochemistry).

I've narrowed it down though:
PSB Image T65
Paradigm Studio 60s
KEF iQ9

Mostly it's between the PSB and the Paradigm.

I know. I heard the Monitor 9s and then heard those and WOW, not even a comparison. They are great speakers. If I decide on them, I have to decided on a color...cherry or black.

I think that cherry is drop dead gorgeous...at least for the fronts.

The GF likes the cherry color too. Since she may be living with them (and me) someday, I'm letting her have some say.

I wish the PSBs came in maple for a full set. Only the towers do and I think it would look ridiculous having two maple towers with a black center and black surrounds.
