I wouldn't make a good audiophile, it'd take all the fun out of listening to music
So you're happy to pay a lot more money for a lower quality sound (relative to price paid)??

I don't get it.

For many of the BOSE lovers - if you are happy with your purchase then great- enjoy! But don't tell me since you love the brand new ford fiesta you just bought that it outperforms your neighbors new Lexus - same thing. I used to own BOSE 301's for years and felt that they sounded great (never was a fan of tiny cube speakers- to make sound you must move some air) until I decided to replace them and did my homework. After replacing them with my Paradigms and doing an a/b comparison - flipping back and forth between the two, every time I switched to Paradigm it was like having cotton removed from my ears. ($500 pr. titan monitor v5, $375 for 4 atom monitor v5, $165 cc110 v3, and $185 boston sub = $1225 ::less than a bose acoustimas or lifestyle set-up.
PS - Multiple friends and relatives have asked me to 'set-up' their 'Premium Sound System'(BOSE) to sound like mine and just can't understand why when I tell them It can't be done since BOSE is so superior.

If you like what you have, Bose, or anything else, who can say you are wrong?

Like displays, or most anything else, you need to judge with your own senses. It's one thing to say my Bose are great speakers, it is another to say they sound better or as good anything else you never took the time to audition.

The alternatives suggested by LTW2 are hardly revolutionary. They are the same respected brands (and you can multiply the number listed at least 3X) many reviewers and customers alike have been raving about for decades.

It is not so much about Bose being bad, but more about respected alternatives.
