Default Looking for Digital Computer Speakers (2.1 or 5.1 - S/PDIF)

I know computer speakers are a bit out of the way relevance wise here, but this is the best community I'm a member of to ask the question...

For the last several days I've been looking around for a new set of computer speakers, I will also likely be getting a new sound card. Since this isn't the sort of thing you buy very often I'd like to get something reasonably future-proof. In this case, I want either a set of 2.1 or 5.1 computer speakers with digital input, coax/optical S/PDIF input for Dolby Surround.

I've gone so far as to browse though all 1000 speaker offerings on Amazon to find something reasonably new and with digital in, but without much luck. Even some of the uber-expensive sets like the Bose Companion 5 which my dad recently bought for himself is analog only, which seems criminal with a $400 price tag.

Digital in seemed to be alot more common about five years ago, but it's hard to find lately.

Can anyone recommend a reasonably recent product which offers digital in? ...or perhaps someone can tell me there's no benefit to S/PDIF and put me out of my misery.

Default Need DTS 610

If you are going directly from your sound card to the speakers you will need the Creative Home Theater Connect DTS-610. See this web page on the product :

The other option would be to connect fiber digital out from your PC sound card to a stereo/receiver with fiber digital inputs and then connect the speakers to the stereo/receiver.
