Second "best for the money" does not mean "best that money can buy".

Would a car salesman suggest to a person looking at a Chevy Cobalt that they should buy the Z06 Corvette? NO!

Since some of us don't have an unlimited budget we can't drop $40,000 on a complete HT setup. Trust me if I was filthy rich I would probably spring for this kind of setup:

You should put in your profile "I am compensating for other shortsomings in life by having ultra expensive HT setup".

While your comment may be considered humorous (to yourself), it really is not.

I posted to your title to make a point.

just curious bmwcycle....they are GREAT sounding speakers. But how come you're driving them with a Receiver. Though it's a Rotel and they are very good ( I have a Rotel 6 channel Amp), I suggest they would sound even better if you used seperates...get the Rotel Amp or another quality brand.

HSU Subwoofers are one of the best for the $ along with SVS and Onix. Right now HSU has introduced a new line of subs and has their old line on sale. For example, the little STF-1 (8") is available for $245. They also have a new line of horn loaded speakers-inexpensive/ high quality. Another company that offers good value is AV123 (ONIX) Their X-Sub is around $200 (in beautiful maple) and they have speakers in your price range. Ascend Acoustics is also very good (speakers) and they have a Christmas sale on (my new speakers). Good hunting!

I would have figured that someone who has the job to afford such a setup as yours would be able to read what I posted and draw an intelligent conclusion.

I am sure there are some out there that think the Avantgarde speakers are the best money can buy. I have personally listenened to a set with a very expensive tube amp setup and they did not sound all that terrific. I don't know what the 20 grand a pair is supposed to get you.

Check out the Definitive pro cinema series. 800 or 1000's. Around $1,000 includes nice powered sub. Magnolia has them

It is not about impressing anyone. It is about education. This is not about money. It is about the best sound. You are just living in your world of ignorance and hurt feelings. Like a few here, you don't want to gain any knowledge.

The only problem with the Nanostat system is they have a very poor mid range reproduction their good for basic movie watching but if you are also using them for Audio reproduction then consider the next step up in the Mirage line I found them extremely satisfying with an amazing soundfeild for 5.1 video reproduction their omni-dispersement system really creates a truly enveloping area of sound. Careful shopping they can be had for about 1500/1600 I use the 8" sub it works well but the 10" is better.
