Default What brand would u choose??

im a college student and im looking to buy a theather system for my 53 wide hdtv i dont have alot of money to spend maybe 250 -400$$ but i recently went to circuit city and saw a few brands i liked. the choices were Bose, Onkyo and Infinity. I liked the bose but they were a little out my range but i just wanted some opinions on what brand would u prefer. i think all 3 were 600watts hometheater systems

I bought a Sony surround system for my HDTV and I love it. Very rich sound with deep base. It supports all formats (DTS, Dolby Digital, Pro Logic II). The best part is that it was only $200 at circuit city!
They also varry it at best buy I think.

I personally would go with an onkyo htib a friend of mine recently purchased one and it sounds great. I also have another friend that has a bose system and the onkyo sounds much better for half the price. Dont pay the price for bose advertising. I have seen some deals in the frys ads for an onkyo htib 6.1 system for something like $500 you might want to look into that. Hope I could be some help.

this is what i have.. Onkyo Hts770

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-OglVXJ0...00&I=580HTS770

It's a lot of bang for the buck. It's currently onsale at cruthfield for 449 and it's free s&h. spend another 75 bux on progressive scan dvd player and you're set.

ditto the Onkyo

you said you 've been to CC , I would go with the 770
6.1/1000w/220w 10" sub/$449.00/
can do SACD or DVD-Audio/lots of inputs

this is a very nice package , for the price...

go buy it, then let us know...

i 3rd the onkyo HT-S770

u can get a refurb direct from shoponkyo.com with free shipping for $399 or
cheaper if u register with the site

the only problem is it is a refurb and u dont get any cables or batteries with it, but for the price:sound:quality ratio u just cant beat it
