Oh boy....

The dream speakers for me would be Polks LSi series.....just always liked Polks.

The Front left and right speakers would be the Polk LSi25's at $2300 / pair

The surrounds woud be the Polk FXi5's at $450 / pair got to have enough for 7.1 so need 2 pairs of those for $900.

The .1 part of my 7.1 system would be a modest Polk PSW505 for $450.

Leaving the most important center channel speaker left. I would choose the Polk LSi at $540

So that bring my little shopping spree to only $4190

My manager at tweeter just bought a whole lsi system and loves it. They are a geat buy for being Plok's flagship speaker they are not priced to bad for them being polk's " high-end ". I ersonally like my highs to be brighter than the lsi's but they are very good. I am eyeing up the JBL studio L's right now. They are brighter than the LSI's yet very smooth .

Being bright is a FR flaw. And not one that I heard in the JBL Studio's I have heard in the past.

If cost were no object I would build my own. If it were an object, I would still build my own. Like some other people I havn't heard anything in "normal" audio shops that sounds good or accurate.

But there is no "best" speaker. It's a relative term with thousands or more variables.

I have watched people buy, sell, trade up, throw away speakers over the last 40 years. I have seen what people end up and stop buying ano ther speaker. There are only a few companies that get that honor.
