Default What to add to Bose ceiling surround sound speakers?

It is probably a very naive question so please bear with me. I have purchased a home that has 5 Bose ceiling surround sound speakers, 3 in the front and two in the back of the room. The speakers are hard wired. The previous owners took with them all the movable parts and did not provide any info for me. I know they had a receiver and a subwoofer, but it looks to me like their TV was not connected to this system (it was in a different part of the room, and there were no traces of cabling on the tile floor). What do I need to buy/install to create a quality surround system that would work for playing/ streaming music and how do I connect the TV to this system so I could stream movies. TV would be on the opposite side of the room from where the receiver will be and I do not want cables crossing the room. I appreciate your help!!!

I understand your frustration unfortunately though that just isn't enough info to advise you. If you could get model #s of the speakers and/or recommended power ratings also what sort of wiring or connection leads were left - bare wires , rca plugs, banana plugs???

They look like 791 invisible speakers. The wires are naked. Does this help? The guy was using a Sony Multi Channel AV receiver STR-DH 750. I do not believe his TV was connected to this receiver, unless it was done wirelessly. I have no idea if that's possible. There was a sound bar connected to the TV.

If the tv is going to be on the opposite side of the room then the speakers probably aren't going to be positioned well for using as surround sound. If they are 791 invisible speakers (or similar) all you really need to do is to hook them up to an AVR (Receiver) depending on what bass you want you may want to add a subwoofer.

In all honestly it may be simpler to buld from scratch which can be done economically , take a look here
