Default looking for "flat" surround sound speaker options

Hey gang. Long time lurker, first time poster.

So I just moved into my new house that's prewired for 5.1 surround sound. After getting the all-clear from my wife, however, it has now come to light that the requirements for the speakers to be mounted on our wall. I'm trying to find three "flat" speakers, something similar to this but a little less expensive. I could go with something like this if I needed to (wife gave the all-clear), but I honestly don't want to lol. I'd prefer to post links of what would and what wouldn't work but I need to have five posts, so I'm hoping that what i'm looking for has come across correctly.

My other option would be to get regular speakers and put them in the wall as planned originally, but I would need REALLY discrete caps, almost everything visually that my wife has seen on the net makes her stomach turn.

anyone have any ideas for what might work for me?

If anyone is able to help, I would truly appreciate it. I'm pretty sure this whole plan is going to fall through because my wife didn't think about this before she gave the go-ahead lol

Thanks

Hey, thank you so much for the response. Sorry for the late reply! So I guess I should have mentioned this at the onset, but my rear speakers will need to be in ceiling, as my living room is open toy kitchen, and I just wouldnt like how the rears would look on/in my ceiling. So, I guess I'm just looking for 3 shallow depth speakers to "frame" my television (left, above, right). Im going to go with some very reasonably priced in-ceiling circular speakers for the rears.

For the three, I'd prefer to keep it under $800, if possible.

Thanks again.

Default Thanks but

Thank you imrizzo, but I must be misrepresenting the question I have.

I will definitely use that site to look at in-ceiling speakers, but my real question is this:

I need three "main" speakers that will go around my TV, in the front of my room, to deliver my left, center, and right channels. Those three speakers can't be in-wall, but also must be very shallow, like the ones you linked me to in your original response. The original system you linked me to were the perfect size and shape, but could only be purchased in a set of five, and I would not like the look of the two rear speakers that come with the set mounted into my ceiling. If I purchase that set, I would have two wasted speakers.

I suppose I could buy that set, buy the in-ceiling speakers and then just not use the two rears that come with the system (it's cheaper than any alternative solution I've found thusfar) but it seems a bit wasteful. The cheapest solution I've found for the "flat" speakers I need are $350 each and is way over what I wanted to spend initially.

I'm more than willing to buy them individually, I'm just saying that I need 3 flat speakers not 5. I don't need them as a package, I fired that would be hard to come by. I'm willing to buy all the speakers, sub, receiver etc. Individually, but I want 1 speaker that meets my requirements, and I want to buy 3 of them. If I can find one speaker that is very shallow, and costs under $250, I can just buy three of them, then find one in-ceiling speaker that I like and buy two of them. That would give me the 5 I'm looking for.

Im sorry, I guess I'm not explaining this right. Does that make a sense at all?

I WOULD THINK THE BEST YOU ARE GONNA BE ABLE TO DO IS GET THAT kef SET-UP AND THEN JUST RE-SELL THE TWO YOU DON'T NEED - HOPEFULLY FOR ENOUGH TO SUBSTITUTE 2 CEILING SPEAKERS

Edit - sorry my caps lock was on.

Lol no worries, it happens. Yeah, now my question is, are the wiring for those speakers proprietary like some htib systems I've owned in the past or if they use regular speaker wire. I don't see an answer on their product listing. I'm sure some googling can find the solution.

Thanks for the input.

they don't use special wiring or connectors and you should contact a seller who deals in KEF product line and see if they are available as separates.
