Default Please help with Vizio Sound bar settings

So I'll admit up front I'm being picky here. I just purchased a Vizio SB3851-C0 sound bar (rear satellite speakers and sub included.) It's the most recent model that I believe just came out. I have the sound and everything working great but I need help programming the TV and or cable box so I can control the sound with the Cox universal remote. I know how to program the remote to control the soundbar using the aux device button on the remote but I am hoping to be able to control the volume without having to press the aux button every time. I want to be able to do it the same as when I controlled the actual TV volume without having to press the TV button. Is there a way to sync the Aux volume with the Cable device button to avoid having to switch back and forth constantly? Thanks...and yes I know I'm picky but for the money being spent on the equipment and the cable, this shouldn't be too much to ask.

My remote has an audio pass-through feature so I can use the volume button for any device, no matter what is currently set. Check if your remote has something like that..

Short answer is that it depends on the remote - some (most) allow for mutli-unit functions to be active and some do not. Each manuf model is specific and there is no universal answer unless you have a true universal remote like one of the Harmony or similar.
