So I took it to the service center about 1-1/2 weeks ago. Called them today and they said they needed to order about 10 parts for the receiver and some were on back order until the 18th. Some drivers and other things. They also said that there may be a problem with the center speaker and to check the ohms.

I have a cheap multimeter and I set it to the lowest ohm setting of 200 and test the speakers. It is showing about 4.5-4.6 for each speaker. Is this correct? Do I need to test them some other way?

It's probably correct for the DC resistance. The impedance would be higher. The ohm rating should be on the speaker or in the specs. I'd guess the speakers should be about 6 to 8 ohms impedance. I think I would take the center speaker to the shop and let them evaluate it.

How much is that going to cost? It might be time for a new receiver. You can get a good deal here...www.accessories4less.com

The receiver is only about 2 months old. It is covered under warranty.

OK. I thought the problem was fixed for a few months but it started again. It only happens during louder scenes. Like when there are explosions and stuff like that. A few months ago I took the receiver to get it repaired. Maybe I need to have the speakers looked at? Is it OK to use the Klipsch HD 600 speakers with a the Yamaha RX-V575 Receiver?
