Default Pioneer SP-FS52-LR or used Tower

I have pretty much decided on purchasing two Pioneer SP-FS52-LR to match with my Denon 1613 (I will add a subwoofer, center and maybe surrounds down the road). Before I do so though I wanted to ask everyone's opinion on whether the FS52s are my best option or should I maybe look at used/refurbished towers? My budget for these two speakers is $200. I am a little skeptical to buying used (craigslist etc.) but want the "best bang for my buck". Thanks in advance!

well $200.00 is really limiting you on your choice but the reviews on the Pioneer SP-FS52-LR from amazon sound great. i was going through thing as you, needed tower speakers but was shocked to see how much they cost. ive always been a music lover and been lucky enough to find deals on high end equipment. i finally posted a wanted add on craigslist for a pairt of tower speakers, response form a man who had a pair of jamo 707i,s = $350.00. amazing sound, these ill be keeping for ever. so shop around, for $200.00 you can find a $600.00, or better, pair of speakers. plus any set you buy can be rebuilt if any of the speakers are bad, or go bad. and it doesnt cost that much. i got lucky, real lucky. now to upgrade my receiver, well when it fails, if it fails.

If your interested in towers and you want quality you've gotta raise you $$ to at least 200 ea, for high quality used speakers. Craigslist and electronics 'you better do some good reading and research' easy rip-off turf.

Ebay is a good source of quality speakers but again READ the whole ad carefully.
There is lots of dealers outsourcing over stock or buyouts and you can find plenty of nice deals with most sellers hi time repeat sellers with high ratings.
