Default Onkyo HT-S6100 took a crap...

Sup guys..haven't been in here in a while...well back in 2010 I bought a Onkyo HT-S6100 from accessories4less and it finally gave out...it was a Refurbished unit from acc4less but was still worth about 600$ when I bought it...when I click ON/STANDBY instead of turning on it just makes a click noise then starts blinking then another click noise... doesn't turn on fully... like it wants to but doesn't... can this be fixed or would i have to throw away this $600 reciever??

Thanks for any advice!

2010, it may be worth a fix. My old tired Integra started heading south, so I sold it off, and picked up a real nice used one from ebay and I broke even. I paid $800.00 in 2000 for mine and sold it for $80.00, the replacement was $75.00 total with shipping. So, I bought a 6 pack with the balance and enjoyed my new avr.

not hard, just expensive and often not worth it. They are throwaway
units. If you choose to fix it, look up United Radio. they are a repair outfit that is an authorized Onkyo repair center. Not only Onkyo but they do 99% or warranty work for electronic makers.

The only problem is the prohibitive shipping cost to & fro repairer, add to that the cost of actual repairs would probably make it not cost effective.

Have you checkek your manual for a hard reset?

Generally.... Press power and vcr simultaneously. Clear should appear in the avr display.

It is worth a shot. The downside is that any presets of any type will be cleared. It is also a very good time to check all speaker wires.

Google onkyo support forum for more help.

Good luck
