If you want surround sound you need to get a sub. Floor standing speakers won't separate the real lows. Movies are mixed with the .1 in mind.

I have two awesome floor standers each with a built in 300w powered sub, but still doesn't replace the stand alone sub.

I don't know anything about Jamo, so I really can't comment on those speakers, I've never heard of them.

have heard a lot of good about denon. ive had yamaha,s for over 30 years. fantastic sound quality. your looking for the distortion they put out. yamaha is around .05 or lees at full volume, others list low distortion levels but thats only turned half way up. what good is it to have a 500 watt amp if you can only turn it up 1/2 way til it distorts.
