It will allow the sound to be directed forward and not 'lost' in the insulation (which is sucking-up the sound).

I adjusted my receiver and there is a huge difference! The speakers sound great! I will continue to look for enclosures but just by running the set up the speakers sound a lot better. We watched Thor last night and I was very happy with the sound! It was crisp. I was nervous about the speakers thinking that I would get what I paid for but I would buy more in wall speakers from monoprice.
