Default Help with a Bose Sub Speaker System

A friend gave me his Bose subwoofer speaker system, and two other pieces that go with it but not any of the speakers. The model is PS28 III, ( I think)

For some reason his installer told him that this wouldn't work with his tv so he bought a different sub but kept the Bose surround and center speakers.

So I have this nice Bose piece of equipment, my question is can I use another brand for the center channel and the other 4 speakers or do I have to stick with Bose?

I have a pretty basic Yamaha surround on my current setup, would these speakers work if I hooked them up to the Bose?

Sorry if this a dumb question

Sorry to give you the bad news but, bose systems work with bose speakers you can not interchange, you can pickup a decent surround system at www.Accessories4less.com

so what about other Bose speakers? as long as they are Bose will they work with this particular model or is there a certain model of speakers that i have to look for to go with this setup? I know when he purchased this system, it was all together.

Ive looked on Ebay for some used ones, but I'm afraid of buying something that is not compatible with what I have
