Default Subwoofer to pair with my Audioengine A5's!

Hey guys. I just bought a brand new iMac, and want to have top tier sound quality to play all the songs off iTunes

I have just ordered a pair of Audioengine A5's based on countless rave reviews. I am a metal head, so I know I will want a sub to go with them. I don't like boomy bass. I like tight sounding bass. I don't want it to drown out all A5's though. I would like them to pair well together. What would you recommend?

My budget is $250 max.

Thank you!

p.s. Is the iMac built in soundcard great enough for these, or do I have to shell out more money for a soundcard?

Wow no answers yet, sorry about that. At that price point scrap up another $50 and go with this guy. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_108PS21...10.html?tp=187 This is one of the only subs you will find in this price range that is not BOOMY so many subs in this price range are just too damn boomy. The infinity has a nice deep tight sound that is tough to find without spending much more money, not to mention the overall build quality is top notch.

Im considering the wireless version of the Infinity for my setup. Any idea if it performs as well as the wired version?

You know I don't have any experience with the wireless version of the ps210/12 so I really can't comment. I can only assume it works well, as Infinity is a top notch company.

I am familiar with both subs and the wireless version is just as good of a performer. Highly recommended. You just can't find anything better that doesn't cost at least double or triple the price.

Awesome! Come back and let us know what you think after you get it connected, placed and tweaked...
