Have a Denon a/v. got to check that.

Have one more question. I am actually trying to setup a HTPC (have a sony bravia LCD) though my main comp does not have a HDMI gfx card so i am going to use the normal connector and take the audio out from the tv to line-in (pc) for a surround effect. Is there any way that i can use presets on a line interface (EQ) ? sounds silly i know

Ok I'm not very computer savvy so I'm sure someone else will chime in and help you. Sorry, I couldn't get you running, good luck.

Rizz,

Thanks for all your help and np, the a/v receiver is anyway kaput so i won't be able to use it as it's now like junk. I think i will stick to the normal connection on my sound card they still give me awesome output through my Altec Lansing speakers. Do you have any knowledge of VGA to S-video as i need to connect my second pc to a 16" crt tv and i have a S video port on my VGA but i am not getting any display.

Are you using an s-video connection on the TV?

S-video to a TV will have a pretty poor picture. You might need to set the PC resolution to 640x480 also.

They make s-video to composite video converters. Do you have a composite input on the TV?

Ok, are you using a s-video to composite converter? If so, is the computer a laptop? If so, then you will need to make sure the video is turned on. On my laptop it is done by pressing fn+F10.
