Question Is this a GOOD deal or not???????

A Paradigm dealer offered his own one year old (seen reciepts) Paradigm MONITOR 11 7.1 surround sound set for sale.
I drove about three hours to check 'm out for a listening session at his own house,.......and.............MAN,...this set sounds absolutely excellent, at low & high volumes, no matter what kind of music style you throw at it.

The Paradigm MONITOR 11 Home Theater set is buildup out of:
-2 X MONITOR11 fronts
-1 X CENTER CC-390
-4 X SURROUND/REARS ADP-390
-1 X POWERED SUBWOOFER DSP-3400

ALL for $3000.00!

Is this a FIAR price for a ONE year old/used Paradigm MONITOR 11 7.1 Home Theater set?

What would you pay for a USED set like this?

Thanks in advance.

Im assuming new, you could probably get them for around $4K

Obviously offer him less and see if he bites.

Would be a kick ass setup

This set is definitely kicking @ss, tried it out, with virtually every sound source he had connected; radio, XM-radio, ddd cd's, sacd, dvd, blu-ray and a ps3 with Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (game intro trailer only-didn't actually play the game!)

The SOUND was astonishing to say the least!

Anyway,...
back to topic,......

Does anyone have any input,.....on what would be a FAIR offer on this set of (used) speakers?????

If the set described above was YOURS and only one year old,...would YOU sell it for $2000.00????
Will the warranty still be valid, after the set is sold again??????

Thanks again!

When buying used equipment...I always find what I'm willing to pay, and sometimes it's just more than the guy wants. I found a FANTASTIC pair of vintage speakers. I told the guy the most I could give is 300 bucks. He wanted 500, so there was no deal. I hate haggling. I set my limits and stick to it, and that's up to yo uof course. As to what's fair, I can't comment because I'm not a Paradigm fan.

As a paradigm monitor 7.1 set-up owner and big paradigm fan. I will chime in. As you know the sound is awesome. I feel the price is fair but I also feel that the adp are overpriced a bit t begin with. I would offer $2600-$2750 and see if you can get him to bite. That would be a steal. If not, and you can afford $3000 then I would still go for it. I know paradigm has a 5 yr warranty but I do not know if it transfers (see if he can give you a copy or the original receipt - this may go a long way towards any warranty claim if necc.) After 2 yrs with my set-up I am still thrilled every day.

Offer him $2500 and see if he bites. For all you know the extra money is not a big deal to him.

Also, many audio enthusiasts are willing to give good deals on their stuff to help other people out. Its like a big family

And yes, the ADP's are overprices and not really needed for surround. You could easily go with atoms for surround

Good Luck!!

I too would offer him $2500 and see if he bites, if not, ask him what would be his bottom line price then work from there. If he sees you are truly interested he may just come down on the price.

I must agree, awesome speakers...
