Default hard time with 7.1 install o_o

hello, im about to buy a 7.1 system, found a 400 buck panasonic and i think ill go with it, it even has blue ray

player so it seems to be a good setup, i even read some reviews, everything seems fine, it would be the same

surround system we get.

Now the problemo.. the TV room is way different to anything i have seen, weird design, and surround sound might not

sound very good because of the room.

I was drawing the room, and here are the results..

First problem of all.. this room only has 3 walls.
Here is the view..

light green means wall
dark green means railing
and yellow is a huge window

you can see thats big problem, then the next one is that where there is no railing or wall,
there are stairs.

Here you can see the elevation levels of the room, the darker it is the higher it is.

this would be the ceiling area. (i was thinking that i could mount the speakers in the ceiling but
i just read its not that good of an idea)

and finally the ultimate problem.. the sofa shape is not intended for a surround system lol
take a look.

i was reading the speaker setup that should be used for 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1 and i dont know what i should do lol
seems like a hard place to install a lot of speakers where its difficult to hide wires, can you guys help me with a

location?... then do you know of a worst story than mine?, if so, do you have any pictures of the final output?

Thanks!!!!!

my suggestion, use 5.1 and mount the right "side" surround speakers on a stand, or both surrond speakers on stands, one behind the corner of the couch, the other on the right side. You will need to seriously tweak the levels on the left and right surround since one will be almost "in your ear".

Worse case, use a 3.1 setup and forget the surrounds.

one other option for the surrounds would be Mirage OmniSat speakers. They can be pricey, even when on sale. Their claim to fame is the sound dispersion cone that spreads the sound out into an omni-directional pattern and helps with "poor placement" issues. Just a thought, and they may be budget busters.
