Default OEM remote or Universal?

So I fixed the rear projection TV that I found on the curb, but they didn't happen to leave the remote by the curb... Anyhow, I want to buy a remote for the tv, and I don't know if I need to get a Sony Wega remote or if I can get a universal remote for it. When I'm watching the TV, the top left corner displays which input I am on (video 5, video 1, etc) and I don't think I can get that to go away without the remote. Any recommendations?

If I should get an OEM remote, how do I know which one to get? There are different model remotes for the Sony Wega - will they all work or do I have to determine which originally came with the TV?

Thanks in advance!

The TV is a Sony Wega KP-46WT520. Perhaps it is best to go with a remote like the Sony RM-VL600, a universal remote made by sony that may be able to control the DVD player and Reciever too?
