Default RCA D52W25 making high pitch noise

Recently my television started making a high pitch noise, it might be ok for hours on end but then starts making the sound. It seems to vary slightly between channels but remains until turned off and then shows up again later on other times seems to be alright.

But, it makes no noise when turned on any HD channel. While making the noise on any and every standard definition channel it's turned too.

I figured I'd check to see if this could be an issue with something other than the TV at this point, since it hasn't conked out on me yet, or at least try and single out something specific it might be.

Thanks!

I have been having the same problem since this winter. seems worse when it is cold outside and turning the volume up and down does nothing to change the intensity of the sound going to best buy to try to get them to fix it but since it doesn't do it all the time its hard to say if something is actually fixed. did you have any luck getting yours to work??? thanks, deano [email protected]

It could be one or more capacitors are the cause when they are stressed. Since it is a CRT based RPTV it cannot be a color wheel which I first thought until i searched for the type of tech used.

Good luck!

Default RcA hIGH pITCH fix!!!

So open up the back panels, you will have to take out what seems like a few hundred screws. Then once the two small panels are removed find the small cylindrical component with a band of copper wiring in the middle located about 5 inches back on the left board. This is the component making all the noise. I've heard the common solution is to put super glue on the coils to keep them from oscillating, but Iíve found that if you find something metal that has some weight to it and is magnetic, you can just stick it right to the top of the component because there is a powerful magnet on the top of it. This will keep the coils from oscillating as well. Hope this helps anyone having this problem.
