Default Thank you

Paul D318,

Thanks for the reply. I went to other sights that talk about the BGLOD issue before I came to this one. Trust me, I will research further next time. But this sight and your input did help a lot in getting me to the root cause of the issue. And for that, I thank you!! I pray other people that are having this frustrating issue can get their TV's fixed just like we did. It's sad that something so small (4 capacitors) can cause such pain.
Again, I urge people to hang in there and try to resolve this issue on their own if out of warranty. With a little patients (more than me) this can be fixed without Mits or tons of money for repairs. After reading most of the blogs on this issue and people that have complained to Mits, Mits is NOT doing anything to help with these lemons that we all bought. I will never by another mitsubishi product again (car, tv, game, etc...). I will always tell people of my experience and others that I have read. Stay clear of Mits. They run a bad business to let something like this go on for so long and not help!!

Default Next step

Well the tech came to my house and replaced the four caps, but the TV is blinking at me. He said there may be a short somewhere in the board, but they are only allowed to replace the caps. He is looking into the availability of a new board. Do you know if these are still available? Luckily If they are not available I need to look into another TV. Luckily I am under warranty and will be a ble to get a replacement. Any suggestions. It looks like the Mits DLP's suffer the same problem so I am going to steer clear of them. Anyone know of a goo replacement non-Mitsu?

ednsharon:

With all due respect, if you can't follow the simple instructions I posted in this thread regarding the facts that:

a) I'm not psychic, and
b) you have not entered your email address into your user profile, making it impossible for me to know where you can be reached, and
c) therefore needed you to send your email address to my email address (that I posted above) - so that I would have somewhere to send the instructions...

Then you probably wouldn't be able to follow any TV repair instructions I could send you, anyway...

I'd love to help you, but...

ok, let me join you guys. I have a Mitsubishi WD-52725 for 4 years now, and it was great, no problems at all, until yesterday. First the video was disappearing, but audio was ok and when switching the channels the video was back for a while then disappeared and so I decided to power it off and cleaned the filter, After an hour or so I have powered it on, but the green light came flashing and never stop stopped, reset, power cycled a couple of times, left it overnight same problem. Checked the forums and decided to try to fix it myself, what a pain. I have to take the front and rear off and finally got to the bottom, but was afraid to take it all apart. Does anybody has repair manuals for WD-52725 or can somebody assist with how to get to the power supply and find these bad capacitors.

Default "Gone Fishing"

I will be "out of the office" until Wednesday, Nov. 12th, so please know that I will not be able to send out any repair instructions to those that need them until I return.

My buddies and I will be doing some deep-sea fishing off the southern coast of North Carolina, and I'll be a long ways away from internet access.

My wife will not be going along this time, but has not yet been "schooled" to answer the requests for repair instructions I've been getting from members and visitors of this forum.

If your set has died, please go ahead and email me your email address (send it to pds318(at)verizon.net) to "get in line" for the repair instructions I will send out as soon as I return.

Thanks - Paul
