Before the current digital, HD age, how often did we see or hear of expensive TV's needing repair? Not often.

It's time for us as consumers to band/join together and demand that these companies who produce high quality (expensive) video equipment include at least a 5 year warranty with their products. If the products are truly good then this should be no problem for them. If the companies say that this would be too costly for them, that just means that the quality of their product is sub standard.

I'm not going to apologize for my rant as I am really tired of hearing of all the problems we consumers have to deal with as a result of our greedy corporate world.
And you should not have to.. but keep in mind many of these problems are on earlier displays (2 to 4 years old). I am not offering an excuse for the mfgs. who are all 'big name' and supposedly on the cutting-edge.
Let's hope the 'newer' technologies are becoming more trouble-free as well as having a long term warranty which reflects pride in the quality and performance of the product. Something sadly missing these days of disposable TVs (even at the high prices we pay for them).
