Default Sony Grand Wega KDF-70XBR950 conundrum

Hello;
I bought the titled model new in 2003, and have replaced the lamp thrice since, the last time being two months ago.

The set started acting weird a few weeks ago. I would turn it on, green light flashing and then stabilized, sound would come on for about two seconds and then stop, no picture. Then after a few minutes, picture and sound, sometimes.

Other times I would get green flashing, then red flashing in 5 blink segments (indicating lamp driver failure). Occasionally I would get the replace lamp LED blinking. Sometimes the set would work, other times not.

I took out the lamp and inspected it, and the filament was still connected. In fact I was able to watch a Netflix flick this evening.

So, given the plethora of symptoms, do you think it could be the power supply, or the new (but cheap) lamp?

All opinions greatly appreciated.

My opinion is if you don't want to replace that TV, the more stuff you can get now to keep it in repair the better. Buy all you can and store. Then you can swap out parts.

Of course that may cost more than a new TV.
