Default Samsung DLP HL-R5067W Won't Turn On

Hi all. My DLP has decided today to not start. When I click the power button, the green 'timer' light on the TV flashes for a few seconds then the 'lamp' light starts flashing. Does that for about a minute and a half. During this, the lamp does turn on and the screen gets that soft glow from the light. After about 2 minutes, I hear a click, the lamp turns off and the green indicators on my TV shut off. I do hear a faint fan like sound from the TV. Can't tell if it's the color wheel or maybe a fan. But it's very quiet. Color wheel is less than 8 months old and the lamp about a year old. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

HI! In your case I would replace the lamp right away, for simple reason: if you have this lamp for a year - depends on who made it, it could be old enough to cause your tv to shut down; most likely it is not your fan, fan "kicks" in later, once the lamp temperature of the lamp gets high enough. The part number of the lamp will be on lamp housing, and also on the right side of the, TV if you are looking from the back of the TV . Good luck!
