Default Routers, routers, routers

I wasn't even sure where to post this question.

I have used a Netgear N600 router for the past 8 or so years. Really not a problem but on rare occasions Netflix or Prime buffer. A Dish tech came in the other day and showed me a few slow spots in the house and told me he had a much better router and sold me a D-Link Wireless N300 router. It cost me $90 through Dish. I looked online and saw that this router sold elsewhere for less than $30. We hard wired my Hopper 3 and my Mac OS12 computer and it seems that this new router does not play well with Safari 12. I'm just not really sure that this was an upgrade? Can anyone out there suggest a better router for less that $100 that I may be able to set up and use?

I'm looking at a TP-Link AC1750 Smart WiFi Router - Dual Band Gigabit Wireless Router, 802.11ac
OR the NETGEAR R6700 Nighthawk AC1750
Much thanks.

wow...
If the new D-Link router works well... send it back to Dish, get your $90 refunded and get one from Amazon for $19.99

https://www.amazon.com/D-Link-Wirele.../dp/B006TZM6XO

To add:
Are you sure that your router is the problem? Could it be your internet provider, download speed?

I'm not sure if its doing the job just yet. I will return it to Dish!

I don't like that D-link stopped working with Safari so I'd prefer a different router all together. I'm paying for 200mbps through Cinn Bell Fioptics. This is all Greek to me. I just don't know enough about it.

N vs AC?? I just don't know

Take a look at the routers from Amped Wireless, they have some great routers with gigabit LAN ports and dual band high powered WIFI, my R20000G rocks.

If you look at the R20000G at their site, it's currently on sale, it will rock.

What one did you look at?

Its $35 cheaper on their own website. I can wait till they come back in. My current router seems to be doing alright for now. I did buy a cheap Netgear extender on Prime
