Default Signal combiner

I have a old UHF/VHF combo antenna. I get the VHF stations OK, but the UHF freqs are sometimes a bit weak. I was thinking about adding a DB8e for picking up the UHF and using a signal combiner with the existing antenna.

All stations are in the same direction from my location.

Would this work OK, or would I run into any kind of phase/cancellation problems with the two antennas?

Welcome to the forum, OTARules

Use a UHF/VHF combiner called a UVSJ (UHF-VHF Separator-Joiner).

The old antenna will provide the VHF signals; the DB8e will provide the UHF signals.

No phase cancellation because the UVSJ passes the UHF signals and blocks the VHF signals on the UHF port; it passes the VHF signals and blocks the UHF signals on the VHF port. It's a low-loss device designed for the job.

Don't use a splitter in reverse to combine a UHF antenna with a VHF antenna. That WILL give you problems.
