Default How much room is required around a dining room table and chairs

How much room is required around a dining room table and chairs,for instance when guests are seated at the dining room table how much space should be allowed to move comfortably and safely around the table.?

Hi

There is a lot written about this topic, but I recently purchased a new dining room table and these are the general guidelines that I found in my research:

Generally, spacing requirements depend greatly on the context and usage planned for the space. For example, if you'd like a walkway / pathway available behind people seated at the table, there should be 36 to 54 inches between the table edge and the object or wall behind it (in general). If no path is needed and a person only needs to pull out a chair far enough to sit down, 24 inches is a good rule of thumb.

Another thing to consider is how large the chairs are and whether or not they have arm rests that can fit under the table. Either of these may affect the general rules above.

When you are going to buy the dining table first check the space you have because in the market every size available as per your requirement. There should be 35 to 50 inch space after seated so that is enough space.

The formal dining room, on the other hand, features a table (often a large one) and ... Although you want family and friends to admire your beautifully set table, you also care that they're comfortably seated when they gather around your table.

Distance between the walls and the dining room table: Ideally, provide at least ... Distance between a dining table and an entrance: Provide around 48" ... no need to duck your face down to the table just to see your dinner guests. ... arm of the chair and the underside of the table seems a bit much as well.

There are so many shapes and sizes of dining tables. ... contemporary dining room by Synthesis Design Inc. .... Also a great dining room chair is one that can be moved around to the living room when needed
