Default Looking for a new dishwasher

We have a KitchenAid dishwasher that is going on 19 years. It has recently sprung a small leak on the bottom right corner of the door, and drips maybe a half cup of water over a cycle. The spring loaded detergent dispenser works maybe 50% of the time. About 10% of the tines on the lower rack are either missing, badly bent, or have rust bubbles festering under the paint. It never dries dishes well. The mechanical timer sometimes gets stuck.

It's time for a new one. Anyone have any suggestions?

We like KitchenAid, and that brand has a couple highly rated models. I have heard nothing but horror stories about Bosch, so that is out of the question. Looking to spend between 500 and 800 on something that is quiet, efficient, and durable.

Would that be an HD dishwasher ? lol, KitchenMaid is excellent and Maytag is another good appliance brand and I believe they are sold by Sears(who has a great service record,)

Natty gets a bad rap. Sometimes a man don't drink for the flavor but rather the effects. Long time no chat old friend.

KitchenAid, as Maytag is a Whirlpool brand now and definitely not what it used to be. When you hear the things about how this brand lasted 20 years aand so on, remember they really reduced their quality a bunch since those were made. Bosch has control issues, but their build quality is actually pretty good. Hard to deal with the electronics issues though. I would really just get the middle of the road type machine, as that way you're getting the better components but not spending the money on the label.

We ended up buying this model, in black. Went in easy, and is very quiet. I even put in a broiler pan that had been in my smoker for 7 hours, and had hard crust and smoke cooked onto it. Ran it on Heavy Duty + High Temp and it came out 99% clean. I was genuinely impressed.

A real bad rap. Natty taste the same as Bud Light, but it's cheaper with fewer calories.

Talking about bad raps. Cans are making a comeback too. Leave it to clever marketing to put tasteless beer into bottles and all the sudden you have a premium product.

Go ahead and buy some evil detergent with evil phosphate so you can keep your dishes clean. I though was Bosch was broke, but it was just evironut mandates.
