Preamps don't have amps in them as far as I know -- the picture you supplied looks like an Onkyo receiver.

In Loving Memory of Junkie, The Rizz, Sobay and the Boys.. They are gone (wasted in fact) but not forgotten..

I almost crapped myself when I read this...in someone's signature, no less!

But I don't understand what happened to High Def Junkie...and Sobay...didn't I just hear from 'Junkie? Why were they "wasted"?

They were all "wasted" in the Bar and Grill a few weeks ago and got a little wild and crazy... I am sure you are aware of some of the details..

Sobay is back, so I need to "alter" my sig to replace him with wareagle...

And yet, again, I have not once heard from anyone about it. Go figure.

I have to admit though, Peter. I think that bit about the flaming bolts was some of your best writing.

That's why they are called preamplifiers (preamp) The picture is a picture of my own 886 btw, i think i'm pretty sure about what i've bought..

Sadly the thread has taken a turn for the worse, so i'm unsubscribing.

FYI..... A preamplifier (preamp), is an electronic amplifier /control section which precedes another amplifier to prepare an electronic signal for further amplification or processing. The preamplifier circuitry may or may not be housed as a separate component. The signal is then passed on to a Power Amplifier, this configuration is usually found in high-end system and allows for better control over processed signals.

No, I didn't hear of the drunk disorderly conduct over there; but why do you have them as "gone but not forgotten"?

I know...I know...as PFC pointed out to just about everyone already, you can poke fun at someone's hard work and writing, but won't contribute a single thing to prove you can do better...I know...I know...

Whew. At any rate, you don't have to hear anything about it, AWOL -- it's being handled privately by administrators at Internet Brands. They're not going to let the harassment go on like it did -- if you think I am joking or "pulling your leg," by all means continue derailing the threads and poking fun at me.

Indeed...there is no AMP in a PRE AMP; it's a stage system before the signal is passed to a power amp...

That's why he confused me.

Okay, Onkyo owners! Chime in with your models and what you're runnin'! Get the thread back on track before it's derailed once again!

I know...I know just let me get you a whole lot of cheese to go with all that whine. You never stop bitching, whining, or complaining and you always play Mr. Innocent when most of the time YOU are the instigator.

It's right here...

And it's not a competition Peter. It's just a forum where we all discuss High Definition things we like and things we don't like. My Onkyo 606 for example. I really like it.

I am not a huge cheese and whine fan... But I can say that my 606 and Velodyne speakers make my pants tight... Love the setup.. And a receiver like that for under $400 was a kickass buy.. 1 of the best I have made..
