Addedum. I have never purchased a serious piece of audio gear based on "salesman hype". Perhaps that is how you operate and that may help explain why you believe Onkyo makes the world's best receivers. It just ain't so. As I stated, I own both and have for many years. In your subjective world, a low end JVC receiver will sound just as good as a low end Onkyo. Bet you wouldn't accept that premise. All receivers are not created equal and they definitely do not all sound the same. If you have not done so, maybe you should listen to some live music. My standard is how close the equipment comes to life. What is yours?

Oh, forgot to mention that Marantz av receivers also fall into the quality range shared by Denon and Yamaha.

Ignorance is the only way to explain your narrow minded conclusions. Whatever you think I'm sure it is fine for you. I have no particular bias and you would know that if you had read all of my posts and look at the equipment I own which does include Marantz, Integra and some brands you have never even heard of.

Read all of your 8400 posts? You must be out of your freaking mind. Not necessary as your Onkyo and Toshiba bias comes through loud and clear from just a few of them. Calling me ignorant does not change the facts. When it comes to overall sound quality, Onkyo can not legitimately claim anything near supremacy. Sorry to have burst your bubble, but Marantz, Denon and Yamaha are better. Generally more expensive. But still better. It's surprising that being the self-proclaimed guru, you don't already know this.

You of course are entitled to your narrow minded opinions.

If you read my post completely not once did I call you ignorant, I did say that your narrow minded conclusion was which is a different thing altogether. Whatever the case, there is no reason whatsoever for you to come and trash a thread where I or someone else is giving assistance to one less knowledgeable. Grow up! We are here to assist, not to see who has more testosterone.

I am not here to argue with you nor will I continue this fruitless dialog so drop it.

Not only is your bias showing, but your inability to understand your own posts. Read.

Just exactly why are you here? To post your negative views wherever you can and to hijack as many threads as possible?

IMO, it is your posts that should be ignored by those coming here for advice since you don't really offer advice but only seem to be contrarian.

A person comes here, asks advice, we give it. It is up to them to decide what to buy.

Well we can all appreciate your arrogance. If someone questions your advice and offers alternatives, you accuse them of "trashing the thread". Your bias is showing...again. Who really needs to "grow up"?
