I have a Sony KDF-55WF655 that has a built in tuner... How would I go about being able to recieve HD channels? Would simply buying a turner work?

You HAVE a tuner, why do you want another? All you need is an antenna good enough to pull in your local digital stations. Hook antenna to tuner, scan for channels.

...as well as subscribing to HDTV via cable/satellite and connecting their STB.

As RSawdey put it,,you don't need a set-top box and you don't need to subscribe to anybody. Your Sony has the hi-def tuner built in. Depending on your location, a good antenna should give you stunning ota hi-def. Have you checked out antennaweb.org to see whats available in your area?

The OP didn't say they were trying to get HD channels for free. OTA will only give you the locals in HD. If they want more HD, the cable/satellite subscription is an option.

OP didn't say he wanted to pay an arm & a leg either... just to receive!

His set also has a CableCard slot, so he has the option of getting a CC & not needing an STB for his digital cable.

If he goes Sat, he's still going to need the antenna...

Not necessarily true, depending on the market he's in, DTV offers east/west HD feeds for ABC/NBC/CBS/FOX.

It would have been nice if they included PBS east/west coast feeds, but it may not matter now since local HDs will soon be available from the new birds that were recently launched.

Who do you want brought back oblioman? George or Bill, or as a duo?

I think if they tried a sex play impeachment on George, he could just play his "Hey Man Smell My Finger" REAL LOUD!
