Sirius bought out XM radio so what does this mean?

Are they still seperate transmissions that aren't compatible?

I don't have a clue how it works

Yes they are still separate and different. The final merger has not yet been approved.

I've been keeping half an eye on the price of the 606 at Amazon.

It's consistently and steadily dropping to it's current $337 (9/30)

Is there a reason? Product life cycle? 607 waiting in the wings? Anyone know?

the 606 is current as the 706, 806, 876 and 906 just got released. bad economy and consumer sales are down.

I've been using a PS3 with the Onkyo TX-SR606 for several months now and have not had any problems with humming.

I have the HDMI cable running directly from the PS3 to the receiver, with another HDMI cable running out to the TV (Mitsubishi 73" DLP WD-73736).

I have never had any problems. The sound is amazing and picture quality is better than my other Blu-ray player (Sony BDP-S300) running to my Onkyo TX-SR605.

Default Hum Try hooking it up (110 Plug)

reversed get a adapter 1st, I used to have a 6 Meter rig
that I thought was going to sing. Also make SURE the plug is grounded.

Bad humming/buzzing from the speakers during movie playback at a medium volume you can hear what sounds like a 60Hrz hum. It also runs really hot and I don't need another E-heater in the room. I just dumped my 606 today and got the Yamaha for 30.00 more. I scored the 606 at Amazon when it was 319.00 free shipping, dbuys has the RX-V636 for 354.00 free shipping you get a pre out and two sub outputs with this unit, and it doesn't run hot and make funny noises like the 606 is plagued with.

Although they are not authorized I could care less, if it passes the 9 day test I can get an extended for like 38.00 for three years.

I don't know but they're out of stock for 1-2 months so it's a moot point right now. I went with the 706 for $488/shipped since I'd procrastinated a bit too much waiting for payday.
