Default Pioneer VSX-43 HDMI Out Setup Challenges

I have a Pioneer VSX-43 Elite AV Receiver. I'm trying to play audio thru the receiver my Samsung TV to my Vizio Sound Bar. I get no audio from the HDMI OUT port on the rear of the receiver. If I bypass the receiver, the audio works fine. If I try to go thru the receiver, I only have audio at the headphone jack. the PIONEER manual on page 64 tells me to "Check that the HDMI setting is set to AMP (see page 37)".I go to page 37 and it just explains the difference between "AMP" and "THROUGH" and sends me to page 55. Page 55 is the instructions for HDMI Setup. There are three (3) sub categories and options as follow: "Control" = ON or OFF. "ARC" = ON or OFF. "Standby Through" is the last sub cat and where I would have expected to hit the spot. Nowhere does it mention the word "AMP". Has anybody seen this before or know what I have to do to get audio to the TV? The video is always there...just no sound.

Go to the audio setting on your tv menu and set audio output to external amp.

I appreciate the feedback but this is definitely a receiver problem and Pioneer says no way this will work. It's amplified audio(out of the peripheral) to amplified audio out of the receiver. The guy says the only true audio out of the receiver is analog and the sound bar requires digital. Is he blowing smoke up my skirt?

Well he is correct in that the specs of your receiver show under Digital Input/Outputs has 2in.

What model vizio soundbar do you have?

Are you able to run the audio via HDMI to your tv and will it pass along audio from a digital output in the tv (some do some don't and some only do 2ch output from external sources , need the model number of the tv?
