Default Onkyo HT-R670 Problems

High Def Forum Experts!!

Had this unit about 4 years. Been using it every day with out issue. One day I shut down and won't turn back on. Press the power button and it clicks then the standby light flashes. What could cause this? Is it repairable? And if it is, is it even worth fixing?

It sounds like a protect circut blew. Double check the speaker connections, then if all ok, unplug the unit and wait a bit-plug it back in and see if that helps. That will reset the unit. Check with Onkyo also, to see if there is a reset procedure. I think an unplug is it. But check. If is continues to shut off, most auth. repair centers have a set repair price. Usually under $100.00. My local auth. shop does them for $56.00 plus shipping.

Yes, I have unplugged everything from the back, and removed electrical power and still does the same thing. I'll check for a repair center nearby.

Usually if it's a factory auth. service center, like United Radio who charges a set fee no matter what the issue. This company does all manufacters of tv, stereo, video games. http://unitedradio.com/index.htm
You may even wish to send it in to them, if not close.
