Default Dual HDMI Output

Hi,

Just for starters as a level set ... I have very little idea of what I am doing, but I am looking at setting up a home theater system. In the past I have never had a receiver, I just plugged everything into the TV.

Now looking at getting a receiver (currently looking at Onkyo TX-NR616), but I am wondering how I do PIP (Picture-In-Picture) in this setup.

Previously the TV would control PIP (if the GF was watching exercise video while I was watching football).

Now however the input is all coming through the receiver, so are both the HDMI output able to be "connected" to different HDMI (or other) inputs? So as to send two signals to the TV, so the TV could then do PIP? Or can the receiver do PIP?

In looking at the manual for the Onkyo TX-NR616 part one (sending two HDMI signals) seems problematic, or not possible and part two (receiver handling PIP) isn't possible either.

So, any thoughts, or help on how I might do this?

thanks
