Default Need help with my Samsung reciever

I have a Sony KDL-32L5000 TV and a Samsung HT-D5550 home theater in a box set up. Right now I run everything HDMI to my TV and have an optical audio cable from my Dish Network 722VIP box to the Samsung reciever for sound. I have to switch this when I use my PS3 to watch a movie. I was thinking of buying a HDMI switcher that has TOSlink and just running the optical audio from this switch to the reciever but what I want to know is, will I get true 5.1 surround sound? And also, does anyone have a recommendation a HDMI switch that does it automatically WITHOUT a remote? I'm planning on buying a Harmony remote so I can control everything with this so I obviously don't want to have to have another remote for the HDMI switch.

I was looking at this switch but can't tell if it's controlled by remote, manual, or automatic:

You can program the harmony to handle the switching functions.

Oh, how can I do that? I was trying to look on their site but didn't see anything. Ideally what I want is to be able to select to turn on my TV or PS3 and have the controller take care of everything without me having to switch anything on the switcher.

Nevermind, I was fumblign around with the compatibility list on the Logitech site last night and didn't know they listed the switcher under Amps. I just did a check on the switch I posted above and it will work. I'm going to get this switch this Fri. when I get paid and just run the audio from the switch via TOSlink. Thanks for your help, much appreciated!

I have an 1100 it allows me to set for any function ie: watch BR it will turn on the blueray player then the AVR setting it to the necessary function, then it turns on the TV to the necessary input. and you can then program the 1100 to turn on the switching device and select the specific setting for the function your using.

The 1100 is the one I am looking at getting. I'm a big fan of touch screens haha. I ideally would like to just create an acitivity on the remote that will turn on the switcher, select the appropriate input, turn on the TV, turn on the Dish box, and then the Samsung reciever. This would be possible right? Or do I need to create 2 seperate activities for the TV/Dish/Samsung and then the HDMI switch seperately?

It will program to do exactly that but it takes a lot of patience and trial & error getting it just right.
