My AVR-S910W Denon is hooked up to the internet via wireless and last night I finally got around to testing the internet radio station portion of the unit. I spent about an hour going through most of the internet radio stations to set up my favorites list.

@coyote - can you please post an example of using send/expect ? I am currently using send/expect for my TPLINK switches, but an using AVRDROID for my Denon. I would like to get rid of it though as I don't like relying on another app.

Oh wow - I was making that WAY too hard. The TPLINK I am using was complex, the Denon is simple.

For the sake of posterity, to use the tasker send/expect plugin with the Denon, simply configure the command like this:

Code:
Target: [Your Denon's IP address]
Port: 23
Timeout: 10
Send: [Command]\0x0d
Example for volume up:
Code:
Send: MVUP\0x0d
I can't post links yet (joined to ask this question) but just google 'denon protocol pdf' for the spec.

Default Denon 2312CI Zone 2 issue

Hi, I'm trying to use a Bose AM3 speaker system in Zone 2 with this receiver (passive sub with pass through to two cubes). I've connected RCA inputs to the receiver (in addition to the HDMI connection) from my Oppo BD95 Bluray/CD player for the Zone 2 output since it only accepts analog. The L & R speaker outputs to Zone 2 are coming from the the Denons SURROUND Back/AMP Assign terminals as they should, but here's the rub...I only get music from the sub and one cube during playback? I've double checked both the connections at the reciever and the sub, even swapped the cubes but nothing found? Even when I selected the CD source (analog) for the Main Zone, only one front speaker and the sub in my 5.1 setup will play? Any ideas about what is causing this issue and how it can be resolved?

Ps. I didn't see any buttons to actually start a new thread for this subject? Have I missed something??

Thanks,

Dave

Default Denon2312 Zone 2 8ssue resolved

..found I still had Zone 1 configured with center rear speaker from previous setup, which was using one channel of the Zone 2 connections (doh!).

My Bose 3 piece system works fine in Zone 2 (passive sub with two satellites), now wondering how the Tone controls and LPF should be set and how this actually affects the frequencies and amp loads?

Hey, I just picked up a pre owned AVR-X1100w. Got everything set up last night. This is my first modern style receiver and I'm a bit confused. Is there any loss in picture quality when using the HDMI pass thru? I tested out a few blue ray movies and they looked a bit off, it could be my eyes playin tricks on me. Using high speed hdmi cables. Thru the blue ray slot. Is there a setting for resolution or anything that I'm missing? Or does it auto detect because it's a blue ray? And the same question goes for the sound options. When listening to "tv audio" I can scroll thru Dolby digital or dts and all the options, but when listening thru an HDMI source like blue ray or sat/cbl box...I can only scroll thru stereo, multi channel stereo, mono movie, or virtual. Does the receiver automatically detect which types of audio are available? Or am I missing something?
