I woke up early and came back to this thread to see what I could find about the PHD-eZ1 this thread was started to discuss. I think the company making the product is actually Prime or PrimeDTV, not ePVision and that particular product was announced in 2010 and never released. This new announcement about the impending release of the PHD-VRX, also concerns a product to be offered by Prime and maybe ePVision is the online retailer?

Amazon has a tuner available from a marketplace seller, an HDMI switcher, media box, the PHD-8VX apparently from the same company, PrimeDTV or Prime. The PHD-8VX gets generally good reviews at Amazon from 13 reviewers, with a couple complaining of a quick death for their product. I will try to find information about the company making and providing customer support and warranty service for the products, that wasn't apparent quickly.

Ha, I made it over to the AVSForums thread, pretty funny thread with a couple of years discussing something nobody has seen. I think the first mention of this upcoming product online was in 2009.

It's been two years in development. I'm sure most of this delay was debating if they should actually come out with the product considering the volatility of these units (unfortunately).
I've been told numerous times, they don't want to introduce something with 'bugs'.

I checked this thing out 6 ways from sunday before I bought it. Yes , I wish it baked fresh sliced bread, It does ok considering licensing issues for the guide service. Not a big deal because my wife sets in the command console with her tablet for scheduling references. A vhs recorder handles the content not recordable because this unit records only atsc. Now if they had an auto tune function The VHS recorder option would be much better taken care of.
