Default How Radio Shack Can Shine

Quote:
So Circuit City (CCTYQ.PK) is gone, and it's Best Buy (NYSE: BBY) and Radio Shack (NYSE: RSH). How opportune for Radio Shack, whose stock seems to be in miracle zone, namely above $10 a share.

They will never compete with a BB and there success to date is based on small electronic components with huge mark-ups and cell phones. Radio Shack should just continue doing what its doing and be glad their still in business. Best Buy will continue to loose market share on big ticket items, to the internet and more and more AV accessories will be sold at fraction of price by the Targets, Wal Marts and even the Home Depots.
We are quickly getting to the point where are efforts to find the cheapest price, will lead to nowhere to go, to see or hear the product.

This could be a good opportunity for sears to gain some market share.

I think Sears would be in a lot better shape to shine than Radio Shack. The Shack does not carry any top brands.

Radio Shack in my opinion is a last resort for something I can not live without. The last time I purchased any thing from them was 3-4 years ago. I go in to compare prices and immediately leave. I for one am surprised they are still around.

I agree. I think their strongest point of sales are the small items, batteries, fuses, electronic components and small electronics that are not found at the big box stores.

RS is a decent but not exceptional gadget store. Nothing more, nothing less.

And, on top of that - for those of us that live in towns of less than 10,000, it sure is nice to have a RS. I go their often for "gadgets", cables, batteries, stuff.

I can't argue with that. Having a mediocre gadget store is better than having none at all. Get your shack on.

Actually, our Radio Shack is inside of our Ace Hardware store. Actually, a pretty nice combo.
