Default Nanowire technology could make LCDs brighter, thinner, and cheaper

Quote:
As nanoimprinting technology advances, scientists have shown that using nano-sized polarizers could significantly enhance the contrast ratio in liquid crystal displays (LCDs). For consumers, that means that TVs, computer monitors, and especially mobile displays could become brighter, lighter, and thinner in the future.

I like the cheaper part but I think LCD's are already bright enough sometimes to the point of being overly bright.

I am hoping for technology that will allow LCD's to have deeper/truer blacks, now that will be something to talk about.
