Default Sex or HDTV? If You Had to Pick One...

They say inches matter when it comes to sex. But apparently they are really talking about Plasma HDTVs.

Comet, a TV retailer in the United Kingdom, has released a study saying that 47 percent of British men would give up sex for one year in return for a 50-inch Plasma set.

Only one-third of UK women would agree to the ticklish proposition, perhaps some comfort to the men who also said no.

The study, of course, has to be viewed somewhat suspiciously because it was done by an electronics retailer which makes money by selling TVs, not sex.

But anyone who has seen a male slobber over a high-def set at retail might not be surprised by the results. Particularly when that male gets a glimpse of a 50-inch Plasma.

"It seems that size really does matter more for men than women," Comet said in its press release.

That's a tough call. I think I would let a flip of the coin decide it. Freddy

Think about it, sex lasts a very short time compared to the life span of a plasma tv, so the smart money is to take the tv.

No surprise.

Look at "what" they are married to.

That cute lithe girl that we married

is now old, weighs 200 pounds, looks like she could roll to work rather than walk, and reminds you of making love to your grandmother! To borrow a scene from Seinfeld:

"It shrinks?" - Elaine
"Like a scared turtle!" - George

(ducking and running)

I'll say, he got the Seinfeld quote wrong. It was Jerry who made the turtle remark, not George, and he said "frightened" instead of "scared."
