Default SONY closing down their Sony Optical Block and Related Problems replacement agreement

UPDATE: Sony has reinstated their ...."I Have A Defective Sony TV" Facebook page,
https://www.facebook.com/pages/I-Hav...766612?sk=wall

BREAKING NEWS: Sony had been running an "optical block program" for about 1-1/2 years in which owners of their highly defective LCD rear projection TVs received discounts off newer direct-view LCD TVs in exchange for a legal release. This program was abruptly terminated on October 27, 2011, and the "I Have A Defective Sony TV" Facebook page, with tens of thousands of customer posts, was turned off. If you have a WE or XBR950 model with the lamp overheating issue, your TV is still under warranty for that issue through March of 2012. If you have a pending settlement with Sony for a failed optical block, you should probably try to resolve it quickly, as it is unknown whether Sony will be offering any future program. There is an alternative Facebook page called "I Still Have a Defective Sony TV" that can be used for discussion/complaints, if desired.

Default The news of IHADS demise has been greatly exaggerated

As a Sony TV owner I started the "I Have a defective Sony TV" page on Facebook to give Sony owners a place to meet. Sony looked at our issues and decided that we had some good points and joined the page to try and help people.

The page was off for a few day but was back up November 1rst. Sony helped so many people that it was necessary to get approval for additional funds. The new budget was approved and we are now funded again.

The team is back to work dealing with the issue. My page has help tens of thousands of Sony owners and is monitored by a dedicated team at Sony for issues with any Sony product. The "I Still" page is not monitored by Sony, mostly sock puppets and posting there will get you nothing from Sony.

So if you have a problem, come to the original IHADS page and let them see what they can do for you.

I can't post the link to IHADS, but I would appreciate it if the admin can add it for me.

This is the BIG problem with the internet, news gets reported and even after the facts change the old headline still remains. The Sony page is still up and running. Thousands of Sony TV owners are being helped by Sony and life goes on.

You are an honorable man for adding the update.

I was a disappointed Sony owner and started the page and to my surprise Sony felt they needed to do something to help people outside of their warranty period. We can't help everyone, but Sony has a team of 6 that will help anyone with any issue with a Sony product. We were as shocked as anyone when the page stopped. That wasn't the intention. Like all big companies some forms needed to be signed and there was a slight delay. At the time Sony was dealing with the massive floods in Malaysia and we understand that taking care of people in need is a lot more important then our sets. But it is all good now.

Where can I find documentation regarding the March 2012 extension?

Thanks, Mike
