Sad news, indeed.

ImRizzo 10-05-2011 05:57 PM

He didn't look at all healthy at his last product presentation.

dsskid 10-05-2011 06:56 PM

In June he looked stick-thin

He looked like someone emaciated from cancer and treatments.

Whether you loved or hated Apple and/or their products, there is no denying the impact he had on technology, consumer electronics, and pop culture. Truly a visionary.

:angel RIP Steve. :angel

Even Visionary doesn't encompass his achievements he was never satisfied with his last project, he was always looking and thinking ahead. Where does Apple go from here ?

I'm sure he did his best to pass on what he could to the likes of Tim Cook and others about what his grand vision is all about. It's yet to be told if what Jobs had can be tought.

Wait...

Another "evil, rich, capitalist oppressor" dead.

I thought there would be dancing in the streets?????

dsskid 10-06-2011 05:55 AM

He's an innovator whose products have directly impacted our lives.
This is America and you have a right to profit from your ideas/services.

ImRizzo 10-06-2011 07:17 AM

He's a visionary who's ideas have affected the World and how we (everyone in the world) deal with communication and access information, not to mention how we access and listen to music. The Genius has left the building and, if he has his phone with him, he may have figured out a way to "call us back".

Couldn't agree more. Personally, I cannot STAND iTunes, but that is only because it's a pain in the *ss IMO... :banghead:

I'm old school as far as liking mp3's that I can edit, manipulate, etc. For those of you that can remember, the original NAPSTER was one of the greatest programs ever written!!

Of course, it didn't have ANY restrictions for such nonsense as copyrights, censorship, etc...

But when you talk about beautiful, cutting-edge, user-friendly hardware and the software that runs it I believe he had no equal.

I own a few iPods including an iPod touch, and if I had more $$$ I would probably own an iPad and Macbook too.

He was a great man. I believe he left a lasting mark and that our world is a better place for him having been in it. I hope he has inspired and will continue to inspire people to do great things. :2cents

Rest In Peace Steve. :angel

Actually, I know many probably won't agree with me on this... But I never actually viewed him that way.

He took a salary of $1 a year at Apple. Granted he was at a point where all his income came off of his Disney and Apple stocks, but he still didn't take a salary from Apple. That's the complete opposite of many CEOs. Hell even Tim Cook is now taking a $6+ Million salary. The next highest salary is the CFO at a little over $1 Million. Granted, Tim doesn't have the same stock count as Steve, a co-founder of Apple, but I'm more apt to say, that Tim is a "typical" CEO making WAY more than is actually necessary. Even other Steve, The Woz, still takes an annual salary from Apple.

Now... that's not to say he wasn't a control freak. He absolutely was. But I just can't put him in the same "evil, rich, capitalist oppressor" camp as other CEOs / Execs.

Growing up with the "Disc Man" and "Walk Man" from Sony was technology to me. Then came the ability to carry 100 of my favorite "albums" in my pocket. For this feat alone, I love Steve Jobs. RIP

It is amazing looking back at his previous presentations. Like when he introduced the first iPod, he looked healthy and, to be honest, a little well fed. As he aged, his appearance would seem to get more and more frail. We definitely lost a big innovator. Whether you liked Apple products or not, you know that his ideas affected you somehow. That is how I think a lot will remember him. RIP Steve! :angel
