And hopefully they will have tinkered with the 929's a bit.

Yes, L2W is correct again as usual. This is a joint project and the specs look fantastic on paper.

I'm really glad to see someone else developing and marketing a high end LCD display panel. It's been too long and as Sony has recently proven with the HX929, these panels CAN be exceptional. The competition is always good for the consumer.

And that wasn't even difficult for me, a die hard plasma proponent to say. I welcome the new technological benefits...Now when we discuss reference monitors, well that's another story.

Rizz, I'll bet you would have not thought me to say that.:D

Wow, that nearly knocked me over. But seriously it is a SERIOUS set and as I've been saying, maybe due to cost it may be the last in this line.

Okay we set the dates for our annual flat panel HDTV shoot-out event to start promptly at 6 PM on Saturday September, 17 and Sunday July18, 2011.

Doors open at 5:30 PM for registration, great food and bottled spring water, fine wines, beers and non alcoholic drinks served while you are mingling till the shoot-out starts at 6 PM and again at our 10 minuet break.

This is a private event, however all HDF members are encouraged to attend in person or on-line as we live webcast every shoot-out; within a few days it goes up on You Tube.

Advanced a/v user membership forums, like HDF have the membership population that makes a great match for our event. So I hope to see some of you in person and hundreds during the live webcast and thousands of you in the following weeks and months on our You Tube page.

The shoot-out is a fantastic annual event that is the only evaluation that very carefully reviews and teaches the four attributes that make up the picture quality, contrast, color accuracy, color saturation and motion resolution and we do it while viewing across the entire market of the best models from every premium TV manufacturer.

Some of the value of the event is the live audience who actively participate throughout the pq evaluations of the 8 flagship panels, seats are limited to 30 per night.

The live web-cast will be moderated with questions and comments passed along to me and our three master calibrators and some will be read aloud and answered by a factory official or our panel of experts.

Over the 6 years we've been producing the event it has grown in popularity and respect. In our perfectly set-up to view and evaluate flat panels you we be seated facing our dedicated shoot-out wall in the main demonstration room so that everyone will be able to evaluate the great creme de' creme of our bleeding edge display technology product leaders.

The event gets better every year so don't miss this year's HDTV shoot-out to learn more about the leading TV offerings and find out who will be crowned
"The King of HDTV"

Enjoy!

Thanks, rough day, huh?

Today I was invited to Sharp's USA headquarters to be interviewed and recorded as the opening speaker at their 8/4/11 press conference announcing the new 60" and 70" Elite LCD/LED TVs.

These are beautiful high-end mid year introduced TVs and I quickly decided to include them in our shoot-out event.

Nice, it's good to see more manufacturers throwing their hats in the ring, competing for recognition in the HD marketplace. I'm looking forward to seeing their products. This will cause other builders not to relax their laurels, which will benefit all of us.
